Mechanical installations completed in Obbola.
Mechanical installations are now completed for the 10,000 m³ pulp tower project in Umeå, Sweden.
Process structures such as pulp towers involve extensive interfaces and installation critical geometry. This requires close alignment between design, fabrication, and installation, together with continuous collaboration with the client.
At the same time as energy-related investments remain active, projects such as this underline our continued, disciplined focus on the pulp and paper industry.
Despite demanding nature of pulp tower projects, northern climate, limited access, and minimal space for prefabrication, the project has progressed according to schedule. This reflects Forssa Engineering’s experience in on site execution, where sequencing, logistics, and installation control are managed as an integral part of project delivery.
With this milestone achieved, the project now proceeds into the remaining finishing works, inspections, and commissioning phases.
The client summarizes collaboration throughout the project as follows:
“Forssa Engineering has carried out the manufacturing of our new 10,000 m³ sulfate pulp tower in an excellent manner and on schedule. The cooperation with Forssa has worked well, with open communication and joint solutions throughout both the design phase and the on-site manufacturing in Obbola.
For future manufacturing of new tanks and towers within SCA, this pulp tower will serve as a good reference.”
